A new survey conducted by BtoB Online reveals that firms which invest heavily in B2B internet marketing choose to opt for LinkedIn as their primary social media website. Amost 93% of B2B companies use social media as part of their internet marketing strategies. About 26% of these said that LinkedIn was their top priority for social media marketing. Facebook followed closely behind at 20%, while blogging, interacting with customer communities and creating YouTube videos were also commonly used social media tactics.
Respondents feel that social sites are useful as internet marketing tools although different channels have their own unique strengths.
LinkedIn is supports lead generation. Facebook is considered strong in promoting products and events, whereas Twitter is noted for its website traffic-building qualities.
LinkedIn shall become more effective for B2B internet marketing initiatives as it continues to grow.
