Amazon sells groceries online

In the web marketing industry, information products has been a long favorite of internet marketers primarily because of the ease of distribution of digital products. The sad part about information products is that, there is no re-order.
The best thing to market, if you have a good distribution system, are products that people use everyday, and has re-order. So that's basically consumer goods. This is exactly what Amazon is marketing right now.
The service is limited to non-perishable goods such as cereal, pasta and canned soup, but Amazon can ship those items to any customer, unlike online grocers that only deliver to limited areas.
"Because we only carry products when we can offer great prices and free shipping, we don't carry everything (yet!)," the company said in a notice on its Web site (http://www.amazon.com).
Think about it for a moment. Which do you think will produce more income?
Selling cars or selling gasoline
Selling printers or selling ink cartridge/toner
Selling water jugs or selling bottled water
Selling flashlight or selling batteries
Selling plates, bowls, forks, and spoons or selling dishwashing liquid.
The key for a good sustainable ecommerce site is to market products with consumer demand and re-order.
I strongly believe we will be seeing more non-perishable consumer goods in Amazon's inventory.
