AOL, Google Launch New Search Ad Service

Do you find AdWords exorbitant? Or do you run a B2C website? If the answer is on the affirmative, you may find the sale of AdWords interesting…
AOL, through its Time Warner Inc. division, will be introducing a paid search service supported by Google Inc.'s technology. The service, which is aimed at helping advertisers' find better target users, will be introduced on Monday.
The new service will aid AOL capture advertising dollars from ads linked to search queries in the form of text. This is in addition to the money it makes from ad campaigns. Certainly, it is expected that a rush for DoubleClick will happen. On the other hand, Google, the largest search engine by far, will back the service to avoid an online deluge involving major content websites in the AdSense networks.
"If I've got a relationship with a big marketer and half of their interactive ad spending is going toward something I don't offer (Search Advertising), I'm going to want to acquire that capability," AOL Media Networks President Mike Kelly said. "This gives us the opportunity to deepen our customer relationship and keep that growth rate going."
The deal does not include the AOL Video search service yet, but they will likely be added over time, Kelly noted.
