Are Videos the Future of the World Wide Web?
Filed in archive Industry by noel on November 25, 2006

Google's purchase of YouTube this year has shocked several webmasters. Some critics in the industry said that the amount was too high for YouTube. However, the greatest astonishment is the query
- why would Google purchase an entertainment site, which is focusing on videos. The result of such purchase is the rush of webmasters to incorporate videos on their website without thinking of the possible risks. The dangers of employing videos include shrinking of the online target market. More often than not, videos are only aimed at enticing the youth - only the hip and the young audience. Moreover, professional videos are limited, that is. These days, most of the videos are done by amateurs. These types of videos must be avoided because it will engender low-quality output. Also, the danger of spamming the search engine with optimized keywords to turn the video content is susceptible. This may also run against quality and improvement.
To prepare for the future, the rule is - DO NOT RUSH. No one knows what the future will be. As a fact no one knows the shape of the future hence, do not hurt your site by doing things that are uncertain.
