Bad Moves When Starting A Website

Bad Moves When Starting A Website

Some SEO gurus might have joked about it while others have fretted over it. Yes, starting a new website isn't such a difficult thing to do but some stumble along the way. Bad moves cripple your opportunity to build an effective website seo- and web-wise.

Here are some of the bad moves that amateur (even not-so-amateur) buffs do:

1. Succumb to free or cheap web hosting. Many site owners are tempted by free or low cost hosting options. Mind you, you need not spend a fortune just guarantee fast hosting. You can choose from a wide variety of reasonably priced hosting services.

2. Not purchasing a domain name. Certainly, you need your own domain to brand your website. Domain names are so affordable – all the more reason for you to purchase one.

3. Purchasing the wrong domain name. Selecting the right domain name may not be that easy. But exert extra effort to produce a name that is easy to recall at the same time relevant to your site.

4. Prioritizing web appearance over its content. Don't be too excited about the aesthetic side. I, for one, prefer the minimalist design which is becoming more and more popular each day. But I don't ever forget about the content.

5. Using incompetent keywords. There are so many SEO tools on the Net so there's no reason for you to miss your target keywords. The keyword tool from Google is one of the better free options.

I might ad this. Get the dominion name yourself. Don’t and you might be headed for some unpleasant experiences down the road.
