Can a Content Management System Get Me More Traffic?

What is your revenue model?
Is your business model based on selling something specific? Widgets, or something more real? Maybe people come to your site because they own the P27 First Generation Three-Speed Woozie Moozer that you company makes (okay, I made that name up) and they need a new slap smacker recoil spring (always the first part to wear out). You're the only one who sells it, there's no place else to go. Or is your business model based on getting people to come to your site so that they can find something that want to buy (something they may not even know they want to buy, yet). Either way, there's a relationship be traffic and sales – but in the second model, more traffic is much more likely to increase your sales.
Even (perhaps especially) if your business model is just to get people to visit your site because it's entertaining (and you have advertisers who pay you based on traffic or click throughs), almost every online business model is based on traffic. Basic SEO skills are designed to improve traffic by making it easier for the people who want to find you to do just that – find you.
The question is this? Can a content management system increase your traffic even more? No matter what you're selling (slap smacker recoil spring or just laughter) content draws readers to your site…
