Google Chief Financial Officer George Reyes expressed serious concerns about click fraud where readers deliberately click on pay-per-click ads so that the advertiser has to pay. Given that paid search ads generate close to all of Google's revenues, it sure has reason to worry. But, how is this going to be monitored. Sure, there can be a law against developing programs / scripts that automatically click. I am sure that law will be very effective - just like the law against spam. But, there are all these zillions of users out there. How are we going to discriminate between a genuine and an invalid click. I guess to Google and other PPC destinations, we can sign off by wishing them the very best of luck.
