DailyDeals.com – a Shopping Search Engine

Search engines: it seems like the world is overrun with them. And part of the growth of the web has come because search engines have multiplied and morphed in their purpose, function, and appearance.

Think of the different web services that provide some sort of response to queries today. Mapquest will find directions to the beach for you. Yahoo People will get you the address and phone number of old friends from high school. Middle Spot will let you search the web visually, instead of relying on text. Google images or Flickr will find you a picture of your favorite politician (or your ex-girlfriend). And Wolfram Alpha will even do your calculus homework for you.

DailyDeals.com - a Shopping Search Engine

Now I'm starting to notice shopping search engines. DailyDeals.com is an example of the idea: a searchable shopping engine with everything from clothes to beauty items, computers to airplane tickets.

All search engines provide some sort of benefit. Shopping search engines help society shop with affordable prices.
