Perhaps there can be no other proof for the impact of social media on the web community than that of the pace at which content is created online on information that goes live via authoritative sources.
The rumor regarding Digg being up for purchase with Google and Microsoft as the main bidders has got top attention not just from Digg but from most social media sites. A similar sort of frenzy was on display (and continues) with the $44 billion bid made by Microsoft for Yahoo.
