DMOZ Is Back!

DMOZ Is Back!

The Open Directory Project (ODP), also called DMOZ (from directory.mozilla.org, its original domain name), is now back on to serve web fanatics especially SEO enthusiasts doing directory submissions to get improved search engine rankings. DMOZ, owned by Netscape, is a multilingual open content directory of links. The website is maintained by volunteer editors.

DMOZ was down for months; however, it is now open for business. Earlier, the website can only be viewed by visitors but no one is allowed to make site submissions. In fact, even editors of DMOZ couldn't go in and add, remove or edit sites – that critical! This chaos was attributed to a server crash at AOL. Said incident get rid of all submissions and caused disorder to the system.

Since then, the site is doomed until last December when editors are allowed to go in once again. Now, it is already accepting submissions. Additionally, for webmasters out there, it is high time to get in there and get your site listed!
