Google Spreadsheet is similar to Writely in that it is an internet-based rather than a desktop-bound. This would result to easier sharing of spreadsheets among multiple people. Most of the time, people are just emailing spreadsheets to one another but with Google Spreadsheet, its now a different ballgame.
Jonathan Rochelle, product manager for Google Spreadsheet, said the aim of the new service is to allow users (family, friends or co-workers) to gain access to the same spreadsheet functions, from different computers at different times.
