Google Limits PageRank Inquiries

It appears that even the search engine giant is continuing its battle against PageRank. Earlier, Google launched a filter to limit PageRank inquiries that its data center receives.
As early as September, I've noticed a number of sites have their PageRank dramatically slashed and they don't know the reason behind. On Thursday, I also noticed that some PR tools were not working, if not returning erroneous results. At the outset, there was some guesswork that the search engine would be introducing new penalties to be imposed against link sellers. Others say Google was running yet another toolbar export. But everybody's wrong.
The release of Google filter is starting to ripple through the paid link industry. Link sellers and buyers typically use online PR tools to verify rank at multiple data centers. Of these online tools, some offer more advanced features to determine if the rank is authentic or just a redirect.
Link sellers and the buyers seeking improved PageRank are not the only ones that benefit from multiple data center tools. There are a number of web sites that have created their visitor base. This is done to provide the mentioned tools.
Over a short period, the company has stepped up its enforcement of link sales. And limiting access to its data centers is just another pace to control the sub-economy that was created with PageRank.
