Google Malware Warning Could Hit Your Web Search

Google Malware Warning Could Hit Your Web Search

You might not have seen it by now, but it could hit your Google search at some future time. What is it? – It's the new malware warning from Google. But is it something to be thankful of? -Well, that's for you to know.

In one of your Google searches, you could encounter this note: "This site may harm your computer." If you click on that link you will be directed to the Google Web Search Help Center page to give you this information:

This warning message appears with search results that we've identified as sites that may install malicious software on your computer. We want our users to feel safer when they search the web, and we're continuously working to identify such dangerous sites and increase protection for our users.

Google will further lead you to the StopBadware website. StopBadware said, "We aim to become a central clearinghouse for research on badware and the bad actors who spread it, and become a focal point for developing collaborative, community-minded approaches to stopping badware."

StopBadware is backed by Harvard Law's Berkman Center for Internet & Society, Oxford University's Oxford Internet Institute and other big companies and organizations including Google, Lenovo and Sun. What is scary about malware warning is the fact that webmasters as well as web owners might have a link to badware on their site without them knowing it or their website might have been hacked. However, if these circumstances happen, report it immediately to Google. You can always go back to the Web Search Help Center page.

StopBadware is awful !!!!! Google and Harvard University have their heads up their butts. I pay for my websites and my antivirus software and they work really well, thank you. I don’t need this so called protection from a group of idiots that couldn’t foresee that sneaking software to run without my knowledge or permission to render my websites unaccessable is illegal. The stupid software kidnapps my webpages and forces the surfer to the stopbadware website to read their acres and acres of information with no way to access the website the surfer was originally trying to visit.
Now everytime someone wants to visit my website, they get a huge unfriendly Scarlett Letter, claiming my website is unfit for visitation when that is just not true.
Stopbadware is a virus and malware. It kidnaps my web pages for unknown reasons, then holds it captive until I go to their web site and ask for permission to review my webpage for a “possible” release. A “possible release”? It’s my web host and myself that have the legal right to stop my web pages from working. And the worst part is there is no way offered to ignore the warning and access the webpage that stopbadware is holding captive.
I am mad as hell about this. It is out and out thief.
