Google replaces Froogle with Google Base
Google's Froogle Merchant Center is now defunct and all data was moved over into google base. The top search engine's vision for Google Base is for it to be a central depository of third party information so it will not only function as a place where you can put stuff for sale.

Schmidt said that Base isn't intended to be a destination portal for consumers, but more of a place where Google can "gather structured data that can be consumed by other Google services".

What's nice about Google Base is it enables you to add attributes describing your content, so that searchers can easily find it.
