Google sites, the JotSpot remake recieves much rancour

Google Sites is a collaboration tool for website creation. On one hand this may be a real simple way to create standards based websites. On the other, this could be a non elegant way to make website creation a bland experience.
Many in the industry have also looked upon this as a Microsoft Sharepoint killer. But the reviews hardly seem to suggest so. Perhaps in the next release Google may be able to get this all together.
A quote from News.com
The talking head was Tom Rizzo, a director for Office SharePoint Server at Microsoft.
"The Google solution is what I'd call patchwork, or Frankenstein, software...You have to put it all together yourself."
Precious, but not prescient. For the multitudes-not business-explain again why I should care. Forget the marketing blather. Most regular folks only use a small percentage of the functions Microsoft stuffs into its apps anyway.
While Wikis for businesses galore on the web it is to be seen if Google Sites does make the whole Google Apps suite a lot more appealing to businesses
