"In early 2007, EI Solutions will build the largest solar power system ever installed on a single corporate campus, at the "Googleplex" in Mountain View, California," the company earlier announced.
Its headquarters, which is located near San Jose, California, is called Googleplex. The name is based on 10googol (1 followed by a googol zeros). Further, Googleplex, in the architectural aspect, means Google complex. Said complex will soon be highlighted by a solar system that is capable of generating a total capacity of 1.6 megawatts. Said figure is enough to provide power to 1,000 average California homes. Amazing, isn't it?
Indeed, it is inspiring to know that Google is investing in the United States' biggest site for commercial solar installation.
