Most of the web enthusiasts especially those that have started without the right foundation in their mind, are lost in the nothingness of the realm. They are perplexed and easily misled. In fact, some of them are still using the 'hard ways' of optimizing a page and never bother digging deeper. They stick with the old SEO mantra. Here are some of the things to befriend search engines - the hard way:
1. Using Flash and flaunting it.
Flash is stunning and fun but search engines hate it. Content is still the king hence; when you are made to choose between Flash and fresh relevant content, choose the latter. This is because bots cannot crawl Flash-based websites. Stick with HTML codes and take advantage of your metas.
2. Using Frames.
Search engine-wise, there is no good reason for Frames. They cannot be indexed moreover; they do not contribute value to your page. Instead of Frames, you can use style sheets or tables.
3. Embeding relevant contents in the graphics.
Search engines index contents not graphics so avoid practicing this SEO fatal mistake. Dynamically created webpages can be a little problematic nonetheless; if you have content management system, it can be manageable. Moreover, as much as possible, try to simplify things.
