How to Increase Technorati Rank
Eric Giguere of Make Easy Money with Google has posted a list post of the 10 Steps towards increasing your site's Technorati ranking.
The best advice that cuts it for me is this method:
Be interesting. Ultimately, your blog's going to be judged on its content. If you're writing good stuff, others will link to you, though you can make that more likely by writing good headlines and leaning towards topics and opinions that are more on the controversial side.
Nothing's more link-worthy than a site with good content. Ways to create quality content include:
1. Writing well-thought of posts that benefit your target readers.
2. Be in-the-know on the news about your industry or site's theme.
3. Writing more experiential posts that are original and relevant to your site's theme.
Think of any linkbaitable idea.

Technorati has an error in there linking system that can easily be exploited. Basically you can make technorati think that subpages are individual blogs and then if those subpages have links to your website you can fool technorati into giving you more links than you actually have.

I noticed that my Technorati ranking and links had increased over the past week and saw that I had been linked by a blog I have never heard of, who is showcasing the pictures of 2000 bloggers. I am on the left side bar–eleven rows down–next to Neo-neocon holding her apple. Okay, it’s a neat idea but the purpose of showcasing 2000 bloggers and their mugshots appears to be to get as many links back from these 2000 blogs as possible–and obviously, it works. If you have your own blog and a picture of yourself on your blog as well, you can ask to be added to the list.
