Keyword Density – an Idea You Should be Aware of…

It is possible to write an article about flowers without ever using the word flowers. And while the result might be a monumental piece of literature, it wouldn't get a very good page rank when you searched for it in Google using the term "flowers." Perhaps it would rank a little higher if you searched for tulips or carnations. But search engines tend to categorize web pages based on the words they contain – not the ideas they contain.

SubmitEdge has an excellent explanation of keyword density available at the moment. And they give you some tips for how to calculate keyword density. A good page rank depends on a keyword density of between 5% and 20%. Less than that and the spiders decide that your page really must not be about that particular topic, since the word doesn't appear much…
