Kim Malone on webmasterradio
Last 15May was the first show of "Click This" where
Jennifer Slegg talks AdSense with Kim Malone, the Director Online Sales & Operations for Google AdSense. For those of you who missed it, you can download the mp3 here.

Some highlights and important information I got from Kim Malone are..

- Most of new adsense users doesn't optimize their ad placement. Kim advised that as much as 60% increase in revenue were experienced on adsense optimized sites. So I guess paying attention to google's tips and adsense heatmap can really make a difference.

- There are some instances where image ads outperform text ads.
- There is no one formula on how many ad units to put. It is highly important
to do A/B testing to get a good indication as results vary from website to website
- Avoid traffic from pay per surf, popups, scumware. It is not advisable to buy
those 20,000 visitors for $19.99 type of deals.
- Mediabot does not help your organic search rankings.

I highly suggest you listen to the entire program.

Next week, Will Johnson, the GM and VP of the Yahoo! Publisher Network will be Jennifer's guest. If you're into contextual advertising, you don't want to miss it!

Should you have questions you would like Jennifer to raise to Will Johnson, you can post a comment at Jensense and she'll try to accomodate it.
