Search Engine News
by Greg Cruey on March 27, 2009
TechCrunch had a piece this past weekend on a new search engine that seeks to make searching the web a more visual experience.
TechCrunch rightly points out that Middlespot isn't the first search engine to try this approach. But the site is an enjoyable experience.
The format is simple. Middlespot pulls up a search response that gives you a column on the left of website names with short descriptions. About 70% of their page is a grid of site previews. you can visually determine whether you're interested in a site. A mouse over gives you a larger view of the site. How much larger? The function is adjustable.
I enjoyed it. You should check it out...
