Must-know SEO Jargon
If you are an amateur site owner or a newbie in search engine optimization world, you must be familiar with the SEO jargon to give you greater edge in the industry. It is hard if not futile, to live in a world where you know nothing at all. Its either you start from scratch or make craps along the way.

There are so many words and phrases that may come along your way especially when you are active in optimizing your webpages. However, there are several abbreviations and phrases that you need to learn. To give you a nice start, here are 5 vital SEO abbreviations/words:

1. SERPS - short for search engine result pages. This abbreviation is used to relate to a particular search engine. (Ex. SERPS on Google)
2. Bots/Spiders - are programs that search engines use to crawl. (Ex. Googlebot, YahooSlurp and MSNbot)
3. KD - short for Keyword Density. It refers to the number of times the keyword is mentioned on a web page.
4. IBL - these are links pointing to your website.
5. Metas - these are tags found on a site. Meta tags include meta title, meta keywords and meta description. Metas are used to inform the bots or spiders what the page is all about.
