Search Engine Optimization Fact #1 - Title Not Showing
Filed in archive SEO by on October 12, 2004
This is something that can really frustrate the search engine optimization practitioner. You go ahead and do all the search engine optimization jazz and then you find that you rank high. But, there are no details available for your site. In fact, even the title is not showing. Instead you see just the URL listed. (see first result in pic). Why is this?

Well, luckily, this is not a problem. Google says "Sometimes, instead of a title there will be a URL, meaning that either the page has no title, or Google has not indexed the full content of that page. We still know it's a good match because of other web pages -- which we have indexed -- that have links to this returned page. If the text associated with these links matches your query, we may return the page as a result even though its full text has not been indexed."So, basically you do nothing and it will change. If you fear / expect that the page may not get indexed for a long time, try getting more links to it (internal links as well as external links) and the problem should vanish faster.
