If link popularity and having the right anchor text is the current god that SEOs worship then here is a simple search engine optimization strategy. Why not create multiple sites with the sole objective of linking to your main site. Hmmm, sounds like too much work for search engine optimization, well the worst scamsters have gotten smarter. They just open new blog accounts on many of the free services out there and aggressively link to their own sites - with nice and propah anchor texts.

If you have 100 sites just of the purpose of giving PR to a particular a site, same applies, you must have 100 popular, rich content, heavy visited sites to make that trick.
