Because of this rewarding online phenomenon, millions of websites on the net are now entertaining AdSense and affiliates to increase their earnings. But in order to succeed, secrets should be unfolded. And one of the secrets is to use original content. There are thousands of duplicate contents on the net and they are competing with each other. The competition is so stiff that the best AdSense template format couldn't be distinguished. Dependence on other website's content is nothing but pure laziness. You can do even better when you do it on your own. By doing that, you are competing with lesser websites yet having greater chances.
Another secret is to entertain web-redesign. If your site is already aging, it necessitates a timely redesign so as not to bore visitors. Keep it fresh and attractive to retain their enthusiasm. Finally, do some rigorous campaigns for your redesigned website. Wait for the results, see if it makes the difference.

Great tips for everybody, the one thing that scares me the most is the competition. As you said it's quit stiff, my only chance besides handling these tips is to keep myself well informed and start hunting opportunities before others do.

I am curious about the future income of bloggers, it is correct what we are doing now, but surely for the future this will have diminishing returns... same Adsense Ad pool, yet millions more blogs.
