Simple Math in Using Search Engines

Simple Math in Using Search Engines

Using search engines and finding resources need not be complicated – all you need is to unleash the simplest math you know of. Forget about Boolean search; forget about power searching. Search engine math will help you get the results you need.

Basic math is definitely easy. Hence, searching can be as easy as that. How do you that? You add, subtract and multiply to do better searches. But before you start with your search, be sure to be specific so that search engines will not be confused and lead you to erroneous pages.

How do you add? Use the symbol + to let search engine find some of the pages relating to your query – not all the pages. Moreover, if you want to search Bill Gates, type in +gates. If your kids wanted Harry Potter books and information, type in +harry +potter.

How do you subtract? Use – symbol when you want to find pages that have 1 word on them but not another word. For instance, bush -hussein and trump -melania.

How about multiplication? Use " to multiply. Example "viral marketing".

Easy, isn't it? You can also combine all the symbols in using search engines. Like this +gates +trump -melania "viral marketing".
