Domain names may just be a word or set of words. But they aren't as worthless as crap. Actually, an optimized domain name can open doors of colossal advantages for e-commerce. This is because they boost the performance of the site in the web search engines.

What's more, domain names can stretch their reach in search engines or provide specific localized results for potential clientele.

Shorter domains may receive immense web traffic, but not necessarily greater conversion. Longer domains, meanwhile, might receive less traffic but with significant conversion rate because the visitors are searching for something very particular. And the said domain is offering such.

To stress, longer domain names tend to be more exact than short domains. And in relation to e-commerce advantage, longer is oftentimes better for conversions.

Major search engines such as Google offer Country code Top Level Domains (CCTLDs) for localized search. Examples of which include google.co.uk and google.co.in. There are a number of web sites for every country code. You can use them to put more weight on search engine rankings.
