First it was text ads, then image ads, now Google AdWords will be adding click to play video ads. They say that a picture paints a thousand words but video, probably a million.

Traditional video advertising channels such as TV ads costs thousands of dollars. With such marketing budgets required, only big time players can have TV ads. Now that a lot of people spend a significant amount of time on the internet, having a short 15-sec video targeted to a specific audience will level the playing field for small advertisers.

Using google adword's click to play combined with geotargetting, suddenly, a local pizza restaurant business can have their own TV like commercials targeted on web surfers in the same area.
