What is the NOODP Tag?
Google, on some cases, use the description of websites from the Open Directory Project (ODP).
If you set your robots meta tag to
<meta name="robots" content="noodp" >
Then google will not use ODP descriptions.
A great example is the one posted by Matt Cutts.
If you're wondering if this tag affects your ranking, it doesn't. Somebody asked Matt and the reply was no.
