When it comes to local searches such as finding restaurants, movies, dry cleaners, or looking for directions from your area to a certain place, windows local seems to have some very good improvements.

Microsoft has made some really nice additions to its local search http://local.live.com. It now has the ability to share maps customized with photos of specific landmarks and locations and share them via email, blogs, or instant messaging applications. It is also hooked up with traffic.com for some real-time traffic information.
