The magic of persuasion is wrapped in words. In a recent study conducted by Blank, Chanowitz and Langer, it was found out that certain words could influence a person to do something which is against his self-interest. The use of the word 'because' is proven to be powerful. It anticipates for a reason. As they say it, even if the reason is not that legitimate at all - it is still a reason.
Another powerful marketing word is 'you'. Hence, it is advisable to use 'you' rather than 'people'. The former connotes stronger identity. On the other hand, one word that impedes the power to persuade is 'but'. It negates the thing you have previously uttered. Thus, it puts period to your persuasion ability.
Generally, in using words, you must avoid slang or profanity, technical languages (unless you are sure that the readers understand it), pretentious or pompous terms, as well as abstract or vague expressions. Keep it brief, clear and simple.
