Yahoo Mail gets a new AJAX interface

I was logging into yahoo mail today and I was prompted if I would like to try the new yahoo user interface. I was quite intrigued so I tried it and I was very surprised how good it is! It now has an AJAX interface.

Previously, whenever I need to read an email, I need to click one of the messages in my inbox and yahoo loads the webpage and shows me the body of the message. Now, with the new improved interface, the main window is split into two. The upper pane contains the list of emails while the lower pane shows the body of the email.

Just click on a message and yahoo loads the message body on the lower pane. No need to ReLoad the whole web page. Double click on a message and it opens the message on a separate tab. Now you can do tabbed email browsing. Again, this happens without reloading the whole webpage.

Thank you AJAX for that wonderful technology.

Hey, you can even do drag and drop. Create some folders and drag those messages and drop it on their respective folders. You can now even select multiple emails using the CTRL key or the SHIFT key.

Between Yahoo and Gmail, hmm... I think Yahoo has taken the upper hand with this new upgrade.
