Yahoo To Experiment With Google Ads

An excerpt from Search Engine Journal
Yahoo!'s board of directors is exploring strategic alternatives to maximize stockholder value, including exploration of potential commercial business arrangements. The Company noted that the testing does not necessarily mean that Yahoo! will join the AdSense for Search program or that any further commercial relationship with Google will result. The Company further stated that it would not comment on the nature or timing of any potential relationship.
The partnership could be more for giving Microsoft the scare as to what Yahoo could achieve if the Redmond giant does not come to terms in committing a larger deal. The present offer of $44 billion in cash and stocks has reduced marginally owing to a fall in Microsoft's share price.
Yahoo is also courting deals with Time Warner in which the media firm would get a stake of 20% by combining its AOL operations with Yahoo.
The real competition for Google will be mounted only with the combination of Microsoft and Yahoo. As of now Google rules the online advertising space. But with the future going to be about who rules the mobile space, there is more to be prepared for in future and that is what Microsoft is gunning for.
