Yahoo

A number of sources (BusinessWeek, Inc.com, Red Herring, HPost) commented on the Microsoft-Yahoo deal at the end of July. And now that the dust has settled...
Don't everyone get too excited. The deal isn't that great for Yahoo and it may take as long as two years to come into full effect. A VC decribed the deal as Microsoft "doubling down" on search. Yahoo supposedly abandon's the search business and agrees to use Microsoft's Bing search engine on the front page of the Yahoo portal for a decade. So Bing appears at two locations.
In the meantime, Bing is gaining market share without Yahoo. And both Mashable and Search Engine Land are reporting that Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz recently declare that Yahoo "has never been a search company."
Whatever...
